Fratelli Patricola | 1930
The Beginning
Our roots go back to a long artisanal tradition. In the 1930s, in our area, S.A.I.I.M./FISM operated as a manufacturer of wooden and brass wind instruments, embodying a strong craft tradition. After the Second World War, production did not resume, but that heritage of experience and knowledge continued to live on, among others, through us.

The company
From one of these master craftsmen, at the beginning of the 1960s, we brothers Francesco, Pietro, and Biagino learned the art of building wind instruments. It was a journey of passion, experience, and dedication that led to the creation of Fratelli Patricola in 1976. Today, our oboes and clarinets are known and appreciated by musicians all over the world.

A Lifetime for Wind Instruments
Fratelli Patricola produces handcrafted clarinets and oboes in a small workshop in Castelnuovo Scrivia, where the work is described as a kind of “magic” that turns wood, gold, and silver into music. Founded more than fifty years ago by the three brothers Francesco, Pietro, and Biagino, the company is now carried on by their children, maintaining a balance between traditional instrument making and modern technologies.
The woods are seasoned for 15–20 years, and each instrument is meant to be a “faithful companion,” able to bring joy to the musician and inspire practice, even to the point of changing the lives of those who choose it.
